devtoolset 4 provides gcc 5.2 and is probably a more "standard" way to accomplish what I believe you're aiming for. https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Developer_Toolset/4/html-single/4.0_Release_Notes/index.html Plus, it's already built and available for use: http://mirror.centos.org/centos/6/sclo/x86_64/rh/devtoolset-4/
