Dear Equalizer Developers,

We've just released Equalizer 1.6, which is the third release of the 1.0 API in
three years with full API compatibility. There has been some pain in
maintaining this compatibility, and furthermore it complicates the use of the
new API for you.

We therefore would like to break API compatibility in a few places in the next
release. This will get rid of all the deprecated methods and EQ_2_0_API
conditionals. Most of the API will stay as it is.

Of course you've got a say in this, please reply to this mail or send me a
private one if you want to argue against this. If we're convinced, we will keep
API compatibility for the next release and call it 1.8. The release after that
will definitely be the 2.0.

Cheers,

Stefan.
