Guys
A mechanic who recently flew my 415D with a C85 engine, told me I needed
the carb rebuilt because when the mixture control was pulled out all the way, it
does not kill the engine. I know he is wrong. I know there are two
types of carbs on the Coupe, the Stromberg and
the Marvel-Schebler. I don't know any more detail and
would like to educate this chap, as well as myself. Can someone please
explain to me why pulling the mixture on the Ercoupe does not kill the engine as
it does on most other acft? Can I find this info in the
archives, and if so, how do I get to them?
Thanks
