Unfortunatly many states do not monitor medical conditons at all, I'm in the process of retiring to Florida and although I'm a seasoned citizen myself - some of those folks are plain scary. On the other hand others at age 90 are just fine. I think this may be the problem with the system, many of us think we are just fine when were not. I think the FAA is much too strict, however the sport license may be to lax. It certaintly is a tough one to call.
