/bigger>/bigger>/fontfamily>Hi Jim (WRB speaking),
If the same A&P or IA is finding "...things that need fixing and adjusting..." four hours after his own previous inspection, I'd recommend a change.
If you decided to hire a new A&P or IA this time around, then the FAA-mandated annual was incidental to an apparent presumption that all mechanics the FAA licenses are (equally?) competent.
Given enough money, this result is possible almost indefinitely by switching mechanics after every flight. :-) You don't need the FAA!
So I'm still in the dark as to what useful function in this sequence of events the FAA and/or their rules and reg. played.
Regards,
WRB

Lots of times I think the FAA has overkill in the rules and reg. But than you think about it and ask yourself if they didn't, how many Ercoupes would still be flying and flying as a good solid airplanes. I'm gettin mine annualed right now and because of circomstnaces we only flew it 4 hrs. last year. and we still have to go through all the process required of a annual. But you now what ? We have found things that need fixing and adjusted. and we will know it will be a better safer airplane because of it. /smaller>/fontfamily>
