While the STC does increase the engine's potential, when correctly applied, this increase is only measurable as more of the original 85 hp available and only in climb configurations. Due to the physics of fixed pitch props, your cruise hp is unaffected. Mr. Ademarzo is correct in that installation of an O200 by STC requires that the airframe be converted to the "D": configuration, permanently removing it from the light sport category.
