A bit on edge, aren't you John? As you now see, you made
an error on your pitch to sell that Ercoupe. I did not imply that you
don't know what you're talking about nor that you deliberately tried to
mislead anyone. But someone that knows a little, tiny bit about the Coupe
saw this and someone that knows nothing couldn't. If you re-read my
reply, it was carefully pointing out that your claim had flaws. If your ad
had flaws, for whatever the reason, the buyer needed to beware. If you
generated interest in that coupe based on your statement, someone would actually
think that it had an O-200 and probably waste some time
persuing it. Further, if someone were looking for an O-200 Coupe, you
wasted his time. Too bad your feelings are hurt, but get over it and if
you're looking for an apology, you should have replied to me personally.
Too many Ercoupes have poor paperwork, undocumented mods and hardware store
parts so my VERY STRONG RECOMMENDATION to anyone looking for an airplane is to
have a knowledgeable Coupe guy do a prebuy. The seller could very
possibly be in error or could have been mislead by some unscrupulous former
owner or mechanic. In my experience with Coupes, I've found that most
owners are stretching their wallets to get into them. Avoid making a
$10,000 mistake. Get that prebuy done, or pay scrap prices for the
aircraft.
That said, if the claims are to be believed, you probably have
the best combo going right now. A "C" with the O-200 crank mod. Good
luck selling it, and BUY A PIPER NEXT TIME.

WHAT THIS DOES IS TO INSTALL A 0-200 CRANKSHAFT, RODS,AND PISTONS IN A CONT. 85 WHICH INCREASES THE HORSEPOWER.
