Spook, As I write this, I've got the CBS story playing in my Netscape browser window. I didn't catch on at first but it refuses to play asking me to choose my default player window. Then it shows me the choice between Windows Media Player and Real Player. So, I chose Windows Media Player and clicked <submit> and it started playing. Yesterday and Sunday, I played it starting with the Firefox browser - with the same routine. I haven't used Internet Explorer for any site except Microsoft for a year or three. In fact, I make sure IE security is set to the highest setting (which makes it mostly unusable) so any invading worm can't use IE's program to do mischief (which they like to do). (In IE, click on <tool>, <Internet options>, <security> then move the slider to the top setting.) With this setting, with a good antivirus program, with IE or another firewall turned on and by not using IE, you are pretty well protected from the bad stuff on the web. By the way, my Netscape is the new version 8.0 which just came out. It's very nice. They claim the best security on the web. They also will show websites in either the Firefox mode or the IE mode. There are very few websites where this makes a difference but http://www.ercoupe.org is one that doesn't display properly in Firefox mode. (I stay in Firefox mode and only switch to IE mode for ercoupe.org. For you Coupe list members of our average age, with Firefox or Netscape, if a web page's text is too small, you just hit <cntl-+> and the text gets bigger. <cntl-"-"> makes text smaller. (control + or control -) Hit it several times if you want. Very nice for my old eyes.) Both Firefox and Netscape are written by the Mozilla Foundation and are distributed for free. Recommended.
