Ive never seen a split elevator like in that advertisement half way down the advertisement. That may have been an early photo, preproduction for the split elevator. All of them Ive seen look more like youll see in pictures N5459F, N6353V or N1569Z on

None of these are close-ups but you can see that the center of the split elevator is cut out on all these. Thats how the split elevator was sold for all the planes from 415-E on up.
