The following is a mail that I sent out yesterday to the TECH list. I
didn't
receive it myself, so I'm not sure if it went anywhere. I hope it's OK to
send it to the FLYIN list as an alternative.

I would be grateful for any advice on this problem....

Yesterday, as I was on a long, slow taxi, fuel began to overflow from the
header tank. This has actually happened at least two times before, and I
thought I had it figured out.

The previous time, the ramp dude had tanked the wing tanks all the way to
the top (and poured some on the wing). As I was running up, fuel spewed
out
of the header tank. I shut down, drained about 2 gallons out, waited a
while
for the wing tanks to equalize, and tried again. This time, no fuel
burbled
out.

Now, yesterday, I only had 4 gallons in each wing tank, and a full header
tank, though no fuel was added to the header. It was just normal full from

having flown recently. As I said earlier, it began to overflow while
taxiing. Note: the bobber pegged at the top of the tube too.

My question: Could it be that some debris, like a peice of the cork
bobber,
may be intermittantly obstructing the overflow drain? I can't think of
anything else right now.

Has anyone out there had a similar experience?

Is the overflow line the one on the left, located on the rear of the tank?
