Hi all,
My major overhaul is about completed and I thought that the prop should
be overhauled at the same time. Nice try. The prop was returned as
unairworthy. Seems that the tips were too thin. Maybe it was a good
thing I found out now. The overhaul from G&N is 14,500 and I was hoping
that I would get by with just that. Alas. Not to be. I need a new
prop $1,750 from Cessna.
Also purchased a new stainless steel stack from Univail to match the one
I installed last year.
That was $540 with the discount. At the very least I should wind up with
a heck of an airplane.

Anyone out there with a yellow tagged prop for my 85 hp 514-D 7148 with
a flange f itting?

Ok try this one..... For years, I have suffered through the problem that
my Coupe was only reading 93 when the others were about 100 or so. That
is with the same RPM and same prop pitch. . I am wondering if my prop,
with the thin tips, were flattening out at full throttle and not biting
the air enough.. I am hoping that the fresh overhaul and a new prop will
give me a slight increase in cruise..
Anyone agree??

Thanks

Bill Coons
