Harmut & Greg, I agree that journalists & the modern media often try to create news or the illusion of news, usually spun & hyped to excite the emotions, and also dumbed down so that it does not ask the audience to think for themselves (the media has the answers - NOT!). Aviation and GA in particular make easy & ripe targets for the media to abuse for short term self enrichment. Add to that; Most so called TV 'news' is little more than titillation in the form of images intended to play on our emotions, with just 'whiff' of information thrown in to make it marketable. If I want thoughtful & intelligent news coverage I tune into NPR, PBS, or the BBC (Auntie Bee). Not to say that even those sources are perfect however; there's more quality & real substance in 2 minutes of NPR, PBS, or the BBC, than a 30 minute network 'news' show (ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, etc.). We're being spoon fed cheap, low end trash entertainment packaged as 'news', and I refuse to support the stuff. Tune into higher quality sources of information and work the gray matter a bit.
