Hi Jan:

That's a good idea once the mark is there you'd never have to fool with
the
plate again.

I made a pointer out of a clip for a glass cartridge fuse and soldered the
pointer to it. The clip fastens onto the cam screw. I'll put it on top of
the scanner tomorrow
and see if I can get a picture.
