Actually, Fred was not all that devoted to being 2-control. He seemed
to be happy either way, and indeed expected more Ercoupes to have
the pedal option than not.

Oh, come on. I still fly okay with pedals. I bet Lynn Nelsen does, too, as

do the
other people who spend time in other types.

Perhaps he wasn't 'ruined.' Perhaps he sucked with rudders all along...it
isn't
uncommon for pilots of certain Spam-cans (and airliners) to have dead
feet.

Well, the difference between any arrival with the ground and a 'landing'
is
only
a matter of rate of closure and pitch, now isn't it?

Speak for yourself.

True of aircraft with rudder pedals as well.

Best way to deal with this is by getting the tail up where it belongs
(static) and
the nose down where it belongs on roll-out.

Personally, I like them all. I have nothing against either. However, with
most
people here, I wouldn't tear into a perfectly good 2-control Ercoupe to
add
pedals.

I would have, before I flew one, though. Ignorance leads to all sorts of
bizarre
acts.
