'Different ships, different long splices.' I really like the map info,
and shrink the numeric info down to help me stay oriented. I
set 'course up' (versus North up) on the map.

It's a matter of taste, and how your mind wraps itself around
navigation by reference to ground objects vs. dead reckoning.
