When referring to the 196, it will NOT give terrain or obstacle
information.
I presume the OTHER brands mean the Anywhere unit.  I tried it in several
planes and it is almost impossible to use and see under even the most
ideal
conditions.  The info about turn-by-turn directions is correct, but I use
the 295 in the car, quite well, without this info.  Anyway you cut it,
color
is great.  The 295 is still my best choice for a primary unit.
