The Garmins are nice units, but other brands have terrain and/or obstacle info, which sure would be great to have. I don't see why Garmin won't at least put on the Minimum Elevation Figures from the sectionals. > The info about turn-by-turn directions > is correct, but I use > the 295 in the car, quite well, without this info. I don't agree. All the 295 does is give you a compass heading and distance to the nearest Taco Bell, Motel 6, or whatever address you punch in. Not too useful at all when you're driving along at 50mph down a busy street and come to an intersection: gee, should I turn left, or go straight?? It's outright dangerous to be trying to figure this out when driving. Sure, a compass direction is better than nothing, but try for instance the Hertz GPS navigation system sometime...it gives spoken, turn-by-turn directions, a tremendous benefit. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
