Very sorry to hear about your hail damage. I hope your insurance
will cover the repairs.
Remember I was having radio problems on the way back from the
Florida trip? I was told last week at the Wausau Airport that I sounded
like Charlie Brown's school teacher, (you know -- waa, waa, waa) so I
took my plane to the avionics shop in Clintonville, WI last week. I
pulled the radio out of the panel and he bench tested it, and he said it
was fine, so I put it back in and transmitted to him, and he said it was
fine, and I started the engine and taxied around and transmitted to him
and he said it was fine, and I took off and flew the pattern and
transmitted to him and he said it was fine, so I landed again, pulled it
out again, and he left it running on the bench all day. I called the
next morning and he said it was still fine, so I flew back and picked it
up, put it back in the panel and flew home. When I called the FBO at
Wausau on the radio they answered me and asked how I'd made my radio so
much better. I said "I didn't do anything," and they said it sounded
perfect. I think just pulling it out cleaned up the contacts. Who
knows, but now I'm ready to fly to Florida again for Sun N Fun next
spring. Anyone want to join me?
