Dwayne,

On an e-mail forum, most people get each message as an individual e-mail.  But that clogs some people’s mail box.

Some people like to receive a single big message once a day, a “digest,” that contains all the day’s messages.  Then they can paw through it at their leisure.

I’ve found I don’t like the digest mode because I have to page down, looking for messages in which I’m interested.  As Jim Slade mentioned, too many people reply to messages letting their e-mail program copy ALL of the preceding message into theirs.  When several people do this, the copied part gets enormous.  That’s a nuisance in individual messages but it’s a pain in a digest where you have to page down looking for the next new message.

Most e-mail programs have an ability to follow RULES.  I made a new folder inside my inbox.  The new folder is called Ercoupe.  Then I made a rule, saying that anytime [COUPERS-FLYIN] or [COUPERS-TECH] was found in the subject line, the message would be moved to the Ercoupe folder.

This keeps Coupe messages from plugging up my main inbox.  And, I can just glance at the Ercoupe folder to see if there are new, unread messages.

As I look through the messages in the Coupers folder, there are a lot of messages I don’t read.  Life is too short.

Hope this helps.
