I do the billing for the gas pumps and rentals at my local airport because
the owner was born before the abacus and never progressed past an electronic
calculator.
He sells gas at 3.78 because he bought the last 5000 gallons at
3.58 back in September and right now people can get gas at Hooks, an important
business airport for 2.95
There are few tickets to invoice every month, but the gas is slowly
selling. He is losing money and lost money when he was selling it at 2.25 and
everyone was paying 4 bucks a gallon during Katrina. Hell, one guy even came
with a pickup truck and a couple of 55 gallon drums! We do not take credit cards
but send people an invoice at the end of the month and so far have only got
stiffed once for about $1400.- I am sure the credit card company would have
taken more than that by now.
He refuses to change the price daily like everyone else does and that is
OK. It is his gas and his pump. I just do the billing.
By the way, there is a closed T hangar available right next to mine at
Williams 9X1 (Just 11 Miles N of IAH Houston) for $170.00 a month with free
water and electricity included and some outstanding neighbors.
