You're probably right, but the weight of the fuel and tank, along with the
necessary survival gear and radio may go a bit too far. Besides, I'm not sure
I would like the pucker factor.

  Aj;
Would it not be cheaper to put a 50 gal aux tank in a Coupe and fly her
across the pond? As I recall the longest hop is 800 miles.

Juergen;Another point to know is that the Ercoupe wings are easily removed.
The width of the gear & tires is 8.5ft and should easily fit into a container
without any other major disassembly. Could make getting one to Europe easier
than any other airplanes.

Al & all,
many thanks for your very informative answers. I did not expect to get
that many feedbacks so quickly. Indeed I don't care about the 1400 lbs weight,
as we don't have a LSA class of Aircraft in Germany.

I will echo the comments about how important it is to have a thorough
prebuy
done by a mechanic qualified and experienced in Ercoupes. There are
more
dogs out there than dogcatchers and more individuals trying to unload
junk

lb
gross weight, look for a D, E, G, F1 or F2 model. You will probably get
        more for your money.
