Glen,
I have a Tanis heater, made in Minnesota. See http://www.tanisaircraft.com/. It has an oil tank pad and also heaters for each of the cylinder heads, plus a heavy duty wiring harness. Works great. I plug it in about 2 hours before flying, and the oil temp gets up around 70º when the air temp is at 10º. Of course, I cover the engine cowling with a blanket-type cover to keep the heat in while heating.

I am going to but an engine preheater. The one that interests me the most is the "Northern Companion Heater" http://www.tacaviation.com/instruct.htm <http://www.tacaviation.com/instruct.htm> Does anyone use this or any other type preheater and if so, opinions please. Glen Glen Davis
