It may be a couple weeks, but...
I'm assisting a rather over-long annual inspection on an 1946 Ercoupe
415-C. The owner has health issues and will be selling upon
completion. He will want "market price," and some terms/flex may be
available. He would like the plane to stay in the Southwest; dry
climate, low corrosion and all that, but...
The annual has been going on for about a year now. I did not get
involved until last September. I have been working on it on Sundays,
being a full-time A&P student here in Roswell, NM. The plane is
located in Artesia (KATS).
Right now, I'm riveting in the center seat back brace. An
alternator is installed, but the paper work got muffed. An STC has
been purchased and will be complied with (and 337 issued) on this
annual.
There is a rumor of break problems that has yet to be
confirmed/addressed. The same guy that put the alternator in also
put in Cleveland breaks. The breaks were caught in an annual
inspection (like 10 years later) and a 337 is on file for them.
Other interesting points: Canned spark plugs on top, crank trim in
back, cloth covered wings. Yeah, it has radio.
So all you guys "looking for a nice Ercoupe" can start noodling
this one. Color's white with red and blue trim stripes.
