My hanger runs 294 per month, hangers at Charlotte County PGD are about the
same price, but they are new with electric doors these are secure
individual hangers go to _www.wheeler-homes.com_
(http://www.wheeler-homes.com)
to search the Venice area. Our beaches are nice, good free parking low
crime(most of us are too old to commit a crime). There are condos across the
street from the airport, from 90 on up. they are 1/2 mile to the beach. I
about
forgot _www.VeniceAviationSociety.com_
(http://www.VeniceAviationSociety.com) enough ads for now (you will see my
face on the Wheeler site.

Larry,
I meant to say a hangar for the coupe at an airport and a separate
residence elsewhere. We've been watching HGTV and are surprised at the low
cost
of houses in FL. compared to PA. I pay $135/month for a 6 plane community
hangar at a grass airstrip. There is typically no flying from Dec to April
unless it's unusually dry.

I keep my plane a VNC my hanger is about 1/2 mile from the gulf, I have it
sprayed with corrosion proofing at each annual, my mechanic says this will
protect the plane. Many planes have been here for 10 - 15 years with no
parts falling off yet.I keep my plane in a hanger, I would not let it stay
outside. There are 2 coupes here at VNC one is polished. We can fly year
around, no snow to worry about. There will be no hanger homes for 150 here,
sorry. If you fly into Vnc email or call 941-323-7722 Larry Mayes

Retirement? What? You two are just kids!

Seriously, I'd be fearful of corrosion caused by salt in the air and in
the rain in Florida. Every time I return from Sun & Fun I find salt deposits
on my plane and rust on the steel bolt heads. That never happens here in
Wisconsin.

Friends,
We playing with the idea of moving to Florida for retirement, within a 60
minute drive to the Gulf side. Of course, a nice grass airstrip in the
vicinity would be nice too. We don't know all the pros and cons of such a
move, but let's start with a hangared home for the Ercoupe first and a house
budget of $150,000.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
