Could someone refresh my memory on setting the e-gap (internal timing) on a Bendix mag. Here's what I remember from what an A&P showed me... find the neutral position and then set the gap so that it opens 10 deg (I believe) LEFT of this position. He gave me a little chart/gauge that I could glue on a piece of Al and attach to the mag and then read the angle. I remember that the pointer pointed to the left when reading the scale. The only trick is "feeling" the neutral position- I've tried to duplicate what he did and am pretty sure I'm on neutral but it almost feels like there's two "bumps" instead of one. Any tips on how to more accurately determine neutral? Also, as a refresher I believe he set the gap while it was on #1TDC (red tooth)- is this right?? Also, IIRC the points *open* when 10 deg left of neutral, right? Thanks folks! Stan _____ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus <http://rd.yahoo.com/mail/mailsig/*http://mailplus.yahoo.com> - Powerful.
