Hi Guys!
I came across what might be a real good fix for the problem
with those darned clips coming out on
our Good Year brakes. On mine there are four pin type clips that go
through the wheel hub from the outside
to hold the disc retainers in place. Two were almost ready to fall out &
we all know what that causes.
Any way, a freind told me what he does to prevent this. He
puts about 4 wraps of electrical tape
around the hub ensuring that the clips can't fall out. He makes
"checking the tape", part of his walk around!
If the tape gets ratty, he keeps a roll in the plane for a quick
replacement.
Does any one else do this? I've already got tape on mine!
Seems reasonable!
