The reason for the objection to the inspection holes, is that you cannot see the front spar behind the wing tanks. It is about 28 inches out to the end of the tank, and trying to look with a flashlight and mirror that distance is not to good. This is why we recommended removing the wings so you could look behind the fuel tanks from the wing side as well as from inside the fuselage.
