----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- I've noticed a problem with my radio and compass
lately. It seems when I am at a high power setting, my compass is off by 20-30
degrees. When I pull the power, it shifts back to correct reading. Also, my
Microphone becomes scratchy when I talk on the radio. It also gets much better,
5x5 when I pull the power (RPMs) back a bit.
I've installed a nice older Kollsman compass in the
panel..same effect, it swings great, until you run up the engine.
I've heard talk of mags causing this kind of
problem. Below about 1800 RPMs, all is well. I'd like to go to my mechanic with
at least an understanding of what he's gonna rape me for...(TIC)
Any thoughts?
