There was some question of how the field portion of the master switch worked, and why the whole circuit looked like it was at ground. If the attached print is able to be posted, you will see at a glance why an ohmmeter check of the circuit looks like it is grounded. Our generators use the "A" circuit where the field is supplied from an internal connection within the generator, and the regulator points varies the resistance to ground. The master switch simply opens this circuit.
