The alternate method is to remove the wings and look inside the center section through the lightening holes.  This is much cheaper and actually better.

Does anyone know of a less expensive method of compliance with AD 2002-26-02, wing center section inspection?
Univair wants almost $200 for 8 inspection plates and some miscellaneous hardware!! 
I think that is a bit excessive.  Maybe I am wrong, but I just have a feeling that there should
be some alternative source or method.
