John; The front wheel is mounted on a tubular axle with spacers on
either
side of the wheel, between the wheel and the nose fork. The assembly is
held
together by one 1/4 inch diameter bolt through the middle of the axle
which is
held in place by formed washers on either end. These washers are on the
outside of the front fork.
The easy part is removing the 1/4 inch bolt and washers. Then you
must
push the tubular axle out of the fork and wheel, through the spacers. I
find
that spraying everything with lots of liquid wrench (or some facsimile
thereof) and using a 1/2 inch drive socket, just about the same diameter
of the axle,
turned backwards (because the backside usually does not have the edges
tapered) with an extension inside it to gently tap and push the axle works
OK. I
have seen the axle bent, so it would not come out, and I had to cut it in
two
pieces to get everything apart.
Once you have the axle removed, everything just falls out of the
fork.
Assemble it using the opposite process, after you have replaced the
tire/tube.
While you have the Coupe with its nose in the air to remove and
replace the tire, I would recommend checking and balancing the front wheel
before
you go flying. You can spin the wheel using compressed air, blowing on the
side
of the wheel to make it spin, to check for out of balance condition. You
will
need to obtain stick-on weights to do the balancing of the wheel. They are

most likely available at your local auto parts store.
Good Luck, and let us know how it all comes out.
