Since you kill a Coupe by turning off the Mags, the below warning doesn't seem valid.  If one or both of the mags were staying hot, the engine wouldn't die in the first place.

I might also add that turning the switch off and back on (at very low RPM,
or idle)
is an excellent (but occasional) post flight exercise.  The motor should
die, then
spring back to life.  This checks the P-lead to be sure the switch is acturlly
grounding the mags.
