They had a wing off. The left one? Then they disturbed ( or maybe repaired

) the
pitot/static lines. Also, they might have nudged the pitot tube out of 
position.

Altitude should make no difference...this is airspeed and although the 
ground speed
is higher at higher density altitude, the airspeed indicator reads the 
same. (With
sluggish acceleration.)

Unless it's psychological, and they're looking at the airspeed with more 
trepidation. :-)

Did they do a D-conversion at the same time, and limit the elevator
travel?
