----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]----I have found one broken stud on the base of Cyl #2.
After removing the cylinder I found that the stud is the one located about 8 O'clock position. It is supposed to be one of the through studs that also holds on Cyl# 3 but after removing #3 I found that the corresponding stud is not attached. Both sides seem to have their own stud screwed into the engine case sides.
The engine is a Co 75-12
It seems like the 0-200 engine has long studs that go all the way through.
Well, I will try to remove the broken stud with an extractor kit and hope it will come out clean.
The question is what do I put back in there?
Everyone I called has nothing in stock and the guy I talked to at Raytheon was not very knowledgeable.
I will have to either order another 7/16" short stud (If I can find it) or one of the current mod long ones.
Can anyone shed some light on this subject?
