----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- Jon,
I came up with a similar fix last year with my
Forney. I am on
Owner maintenance too, and went to a speed shop and
picked up
insulating material that is used by racers to keep
their fuel lines cool.
It's not cheap...about 30 bucks cnd but I got a
sleeve that fits the
-6 fuel line and is made to withstand the kind of
heat that builds up
in the fuel section.
For those who run certified coupes, the aeroquip
firesleeve is a popular
choice. The nice thing about the race stuff is it
is designed to reflect
heat as well as the fact that its
fireproof.
It turns out your local race shop has a lot of neat
things that can
work well in a coupe. They have lots of insulating
material made for
high heat environments.
