Make sure you actually have a bad "muffler".

I had one AP, who was supposedly quite experienced tell me I needed a new one because it was empty inside. He didn't know that the thing is supposed to be empty and never had any baffling in it.

Subject: [COUPERS-TECH] Muffler

Hi Group,

We have a 1946 model.  Annual inspection discovered bad muffler.  Does anyone have a muffler or know where to get one?  Previously we bought an 8 inch long aileron push rod from Univair and paid over $100 without the ends!  We would prefer not to deal with them again if possible.

Thank you
