----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]----Bob: If your push rod tubes are leaking from the engine end, where the rubber seals are on the outside, you can replace the seals, but replacement requires loosening of the cylinder hold down bolts and removal of the pushrod in order to remove/replace the seals. If they are leaking from the cylinder head end, there is no seal, but a special tool is used to put a ridge in the pushrod tube that mates up with a groove in the cylinder head.
I've been told that some people are careless when handling small Continental cylinders and may even use the pushrod tubes as a handle. That is a no-no due to the way the tubes are sealed in the cylinder.
Aircraft Spruce lists the seal, P/N 539840 for just over a dollar. But obviously you need special tools to work the cylinder hold down nuts, and it will take some time to do the job.
