Thanks for all of the great ideas, I will be checking them all our
A few more things that I did not mention:
This Loosing power started about a month ago, and when it first happened the engine got pretty rough, so I landed and did a run up and mag check and it all checked out fine, so I pulled the plugs and cleaned them, took off again, and the same thing happened again, (There was a minor improvement) so I ordered new plugs as the ones in the plane were pretty old, I installed the new plugs, and took off and it fooled me as it did not start acting up at 200 to 300 feet it let me get to about 1000 feet before it lost power with the RPM dropping to about 1900 RPM, it did not seen as rough this time, and switching mags and carb head did not improve it at all, so I got back to the air port (Thank God) and did a run up on the ground and mag check and everything was ok ???
Today I pulled the gascolator and did not find any crud in it, so I pulled the fuel line off at the carb and opened the fuel valve and drained the header tank into a gas can, I did not time it (I probably should have) But the flow seemed to be good into the can not sure how good as I said I did not time it.
There has not been any work done on the plane, the fuel lines have NOT been changed, nothing has been changed with the exception of the plugs.
OH yes if I remember correctly with the enginew running I can turn off the fuel valve in the cockpit and the engine still runs, But I have never removed the handle on it, so I suppose it is possible that to could have been installed incorrectly, However there has not been a problem till just a month ago ??
