To all Coupers::

In the next couple of weeks my friend Gary Tuovinen and I are going to depart from Salinas, California enroute to Kitty Hawk, NC to attempt the East to West Transcontinental speed record for C1-b aircraft.  Some of you may recall, that Gary and I set the West to East record a couple of years ago in my Alon.

We have a "Tracker" installed in the airplane which utilizes Amateur radio frequencies to transmit packet radio data from a standalone GPS to Amateurs coast to coast, and they in turn, place this data up on the internet.

Our departure date is not yet stamped in stone due to weather, and other factors, so nothing will be visible at the moment, I just wanted to take this time to get the internet addresses out there and to kinda let people know what is behind all this.

As you know this is the Centennial of powered flight, and the Ercoupe has been a pioneer in this endeavor, having been around for almost three quarters of this time.  The Ercoupe got people into the air like no other airplane, and I just wish to publicize that fact along with several others during this celebration.

The address is::http://www.findu.com/cgi-bin/track1.cgi?kg6pen-7

another method which will give access is to::

go to Google:
Type in my Amateur call letters KG6PEN-7 in the search window;
Click on the top message to show when google retrieves the addresses.

We will have the "Tracker" on line going both ways on this trip.

I will attempt to get this info up prior to departure, but there are a lot of things that have yet to be done, and I may forget.

I think this is "Technical,"  Don't you?
