I don't have an example on hand to measure, but I have noticed that the
stainless steel wire that Skyport sells is larger in diameter than that
which Univair carries.

I had cause to order one of the Bowden cable end pieces, so I ordered the
whole business from Univair and the wire was noticible smaller.

I have had a lot of difficulty threading the larger wire into one of the
trim wire setups that use the flexible Bowden cable all the way from
elevator to cockpit control.

I admit to being confused as to just what serial numbers had Bowden cable
all the way back and which ones had the trim wire running through tubing
down the fuselage. Initially, I had thought that the flexible bowden cable
all the way was only used on those planes that had been fitted with a trim
tab after leaving the factory. However I had a sticky trim cable on a G
model recently and when investigating, I found Bowden cable running the
whole length of the fuselage.
