I have not been able to fly for 2 months.
I went out last Thursday and flew around for 1.3 hours
without any problems.
Today, about 10 minutes after takeoff RPMs dropped from
2500 to 2100 for about 15 seconds. Temps in mid 50's, humidity in the
40's. I returned, landed, did a mag check and all was normal. Felt
each cylnder and all were hot. No leaks, etc. I went and flew around the airport
for about 1.2 hours without any problems. Landed and a nearby airport and
got fuel.
On my return to home airport (about a 10 minute flight),
same thing happened as I entered crosswind. I pulled carb heat and did not
notice any difference. I flew a high downwind, pull back to 1700 and all was
fine. Ran full throtle for about 20 seconds and all was fine. Landed without any
problems.
I will give John Sr. a call tonight and have a local IA to
discuss it with, any thoughts would be appreciated.
