I'd suggest that, in the mean time, don't send a muffler to
Dawley
unless it needs nothing but either or both end plates
repaired.
I would NOT sending a muffler to Dawley for
repairs if it needs end plates. If you look at the original Ercoupe muffler
you will see a "pleat" in the end plates to allow expansion. Dawley puts a
solid endplate on. I didn't get 50 hours out of the last muffler they
"repaired" For me once burned is once learned. <G>
However on their exhaust stacks--that's a different story.
The last set I got from them was outstanding in all respects
