I have been the fuel valve route, it is not easy to find a substitute valve without replacing the header tank part of the valve, at least that is how it is on my Coupe. When the tanks and valves were made, Erco, or someone, used common pipe thread which is coarser than what is usually found in aviation. It is also a good idea to treat the header tank like tissue paper, removing it is no fun. If you remove it you may be able to get the female part replaced on the bottom of the tank, if I recall correctly it is held in place by a round flange which is rivetted in place. I doubt that it will be easy to get the FAA to go along with a new flange because of the more stringent requirements recently put in place, they may even require engineers drawings etc. I am new to the group so there may already be an STC out there that takes care of this problem, there is also a fuel valve lube, but its name escapes me at the moment, perhaps the others on this site can help you there. ========================================================================== ==== To leave this forum go to: http://ercoupers.com/lists.htm Search the archives on http://escribe.com/aviation/coupers-tech/
