Sanders went to unvented wing tank caps with his E-Modell already. All
later
Models have unvented caps.
The tanks are still vented but into the header tank, which keeps his
vented
cap.
Using unvented wing caps is solving the spill problem and also should let
less humid air into the tanks since the system is breathing now through
the
header tank cap.
Unless somebody altered the fuel system, you should have the unvented caps
on there.
I would do a test flight in close traffic pattern with the vents plugged
and
see if there are some adverse effects and if all goes fine, seal the vents
for good.

water
problem. I have vented caps on my Alon and have been told by a number of
people that the wing tank caps on this model should be unvented , only the
header tank should be vented. I really don't know the correct answer
except
if I plug the vents on the wing tanks the fuel venting stops.
