Norman's response: Ed: Thanks for the rapid response! You know, I didn't make a note of the exact RPM I was getting. I'll do that next time. I do remember that it tended to hang around the bottom of the green arc almost all the time. I have a C85 with the metal prop, but I don't know the model with certainty. I'm thinking of having it pitched for climb since I plan to fly from about 4000 ft in mountainous areas occasionally. I did get a level flight cruise of about 108mph, and occasionally held steady at 115 with maybe a slight descent. Since it was a shakedown though, I didn't want to hang out there long. The tower I'm referring to is the control tower at my home field (PDT). The radio only cuts out when I am in the runup area, which is only about 600 ft from the base of the tower. If I turn around and backtrack just 40' or so, its fine....
