How do you go about replacing this single bearing ? I have never Had one apart

I have Ken.  A couple times.  Have replaced that single bearing too.  Once just
because the mechanic thought it'd do some good.  It was fine before he looked
at it, and remained fine (no shimmy) after I spent the $26 to get a new one.
Enough complaining.  In the center of the nose wheel, there is a nut with a
"keeper."  The keeper is a star washer with square ears.  One ear is bent
over the nut to assure it doesn't come off at an embarrassing moment...   :-)
Unbend the ear and remove the nut.  There are the usual washers to keep
things in place - take `em out.  The wheel comes off and you can change
the bearing.
Now - bearings are designated by size; universally.  A bearing the same
size as the one that is in there now will work just fine.  Go to a bearing
shop; not your local auto parts store - their stock is too limited.  I have been
told that the bearing for an Ercoupe must be marked "Made in USA."  Be
prepared to spend a couple more bucks for such.  The American bearings
were used when the Ercoupe was certified.
Basically, it is a day's job; half of which spent getting the new piece.
