The fuselage tank is a big, flat pan (ever try and walk with a brownie pan full of water) which gets disproportionately disturbed by pitch changes. It isn't unusual for the levels to be off kilter if you're climbing and descending a lot. No matter how they arrange the plumbing, it's hard to guarantee that, up near the surface, everything will be nominal. If it didn't sort itself out after a bit of straight-and-level, I'd be concerned.
