Tommy,
The Continental Engine Overhaul Manual has specific instructions for installing propellers on tapered crankshafts.  Propeller hub bolts: 200-220 inch pounds of torque.  The hub nut for the tapered crankshaft: 200-225 foot pounds.  You can also find bolt torques for McCauley at their website, check the product support, then active service bulletins.  There you will find the bulletin on the subject "Mounting Torque".   This particular site has other service letters and bulletins that contain a wealth of information on inspection and service criteria on your propeller.  Great reading.

Subject: [COUPERS-TECH] Prop Bolt Torque

----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]----

We are replacing the prop bolts on 93929 and cannot find the torque values.  I’m sure they are out there somewhere but we just haven’t found the place yet.  This leads to two questions:

1.                   Any ideas on where to find the information?

2.                   Does anybody know the values right off?

                        Continental  75/85

                        Tapered shaft

                        McCauley  A91 7148

Thanks

Tommy
