From one who has made the lens::  No it couldn't!
In order for the plastic to be molded without discoloration it has to be made out of Lexan which requires a Male and Female mold in order for the plastic to remain the same thickness around the leading edge curve, and to keep the plastic edges at right angles. 
I only did it once!

Has anyone made a mold with which to conform a plastic lens to fit into the wing of an A2A over the landing light? I was thinking plaster-of-paris  might be an acceptable medium, but it couldn't be that easy, could it?
