The rear tie down is a 1/4 inch right angle nut plate held to the frame by two small rivets. You could shear the rivets and pull the nut plate through the skin, bend the frame that it's riveted to, pull the nut off the nut plate or simply bend the tie down ring.

I wouldn't put much lateral load on it at all. I have replaced a couple that have torn out.

I am concerned about the lateral loads the tie down ring will handle.  Does anyone have any experience with this?
